Looks like Georgie B. has finally got off his high horse and decided that it was a good idea to sit down with Iran and Syria regarding Iraq. This should have taken place long ago, it might have saved 10’s of thousands of young men and women serving in our military the severe wounds and loses they have suffered.
“God made me do it!” February 23, 2007
Or so says George Bush when discussing his reasons for this country’s present state of affairs. I’m more than a day late hearing about George’s comments but they scare me even more than I was before. Never did like the man – I’m a relatively good judge of people – can see it in their eyes, facial expressions, body language – I saw nothing good about him. Here is an excerpt of his comments:
Bush’s willingness to identify religious intention in war planning is unprecedented. In July 2003, the Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz quoted him as telling the Palestinian prime minister that “God told me to strike at al-Qaeda and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East.” A friendly Bush family chronicle by Peter and Rochelle Schweizer quoted one unnamed relative as saying that Bush sees the war on terrorism as a “religious war”: “He doesn’t have a p.c. view of this war. His view of this is that they are trying to kill the Christians. And we the Christians will strike back with more force and more ferocity than they will ever know” (New York Times, March 29).
“Give me a break George!”
Election 2008? February 22, 2007
Did I miss a year? I know that all the candidates for president must make everyone aware on where they stand on issues but is it really necessary to start the sniping, name calling et. al. when 2007 just began? Sure I suppose that we should all start examining every platform, pick apart the planks, weigh one against the other and so on and so on but February 2007?
Getting better at this. February 21, 2007
I’ve mentioned in previous posts that I have several blogs on the net and would eventually figure out which one will do what, well I’ve sorta decided that this space will be devoted to my rather eclectic views and thoughts on politics. Mind you, until a few days ago I wasn’t even registered to vote (I know, shame on me!!). I’ve been totally disgusted with the current state of affairs, our lagging image overseas, that arrogant imbecile now in office, the deepening crisis now at hand in Iraq and so on and so on. This is where I will moan, groan, postulate and otherwise spout out my concerns as well as, hopefully, good views on things that are near and dear to my heart. I’m probably best described as a “green independent” so if you do happen to read this and want to either start a conversation or just offer alternative options, please drop a note.
I’ve started another blog which covers my thoughts and ideas on the environment, ecology, organic gardening, critters et. al. you can visit that by going to my blogroll for a permanent link or going to Gatzbo’s Green Piece
A year plus later and nothing has happened!! February 15, 2007
I started this wordpress page over a year ago thinking that I would be here frequently telling the world, more accurately the few that read this, things that interest me, upset me, make me grow. Well to be perfectly honest – I FORGOT THAT I HAD THIS SPACE!!!!. That, I am sure, is the result of having CRS – “Can’t Remeber Shit!” or CRAFT – “Can’t Remeber A F****** Thing!”. “You thought I was gonna use the “F” word didn’t you???” Well I’ve been getting deeper into the whole blogosphere world. I now have pages on Yahoo 360, Tagged, MySpace – I’m being spread too thin.
Actually my intent is to use each and everyone of them differently. Just not sure which is going to do what, say what, be what. I’m learning about “Pipes” now so maybe this one will be the catchall. Oh well, as mentioned in my last post (only post) come back once in awhile to see if I remembered being here before.
