Recession? Part two. February 23, 2008

A recent post on my blog “Recession? Yes” discussed how I came to the conclusion that we were in a recession. Since that post national pundits seem to agree with that position. However, there is light at the end of tunnel. That same friend of mine commented how his business was picking up along the same lines as had been slowing down. So cheer up America. While it might take several months to happen we can all rest easy that we are in an upswing.

As everyone knows by now Fidel Castro has resigned his position as head of state. His brother Rauol (sp?) is most likely the next in line for leadership. Our current administration still believes that things will change from within in Cuba leading to a democracy in that island country. Give me a break! Not every country wants democracy. We keep trying to push our style of life on other nations. Why not just open a dialogue with Cuba to see if some common ground can be achieved? They could be good trading partners – our grain and like resources would do more for peace and tranquility than open rhetoric.

Outrage is too soft a word. February 1, 2008

I just heard the news regarding the latest bomb blast in Iraq.  The reports that two women with Downs Syndrome were blown up via remote control killing and maiming many.  Muslims around the world continue to say that Islam is a religion of peace.  Yeah Sure!  As of yet no one considering themselves as a peace loving Muslim has condemned this latest outrage.  If we, non-Muslim’s, are to believe that Islam is what we have been told these murdering bastard criminals  must be found and prosecuted to the full extent of international law.  Additionally, any Muslim that condones or looks the other way must be held responsible for aiding and abetting and held to the same law.
